8 UCLA Engineers Among World’s Most Influential Researchers

Clarivate released today its list of 2023 Highly Cited Researchers, including eight faculty members from the UCLA Samueli School of Engineering.
Since 2002, Clarivate has released an annual list of researchers who have demonstrated compelling and broad influence across various disciplines. Nearly 7,000 researchers from around the world are included in the 2023 list, which is compiled by international analytics firm Clarivate through its Web of Science platform that provides reference and citation data from academic journals, conference proceedings and other documents. Each selected researcher has published multiple papers that ranked in the top 1% by peer citations during the previous decade.
The following UCLA Samueli-affiliated researchers are included in this year’s list:
Nasim Annabi, assistant professor of chemical and biomolecular engineering
Jun Chen, assistant professor of bioengineering
Bruce Dunn, distinguished professor of materials science and engineering, bioengineering and the Nippon Sheet Glass Company Chair in Materials Science
Yu Huang, professor and chair of the Materials Science and Engineering Department, and the Traugott and Dorothea Frederking Endowed Chair
Richard Kaner, professor of chemistry and biochemistry, materials science and engineering and the Dr. Myung Ki Hong Endowed Chair in Materials Innovation
Yuzhang Li, assistant professor of chemical and biomolecular engineering
Aydogan Ozcan, professor of electrical and computer engineering, bioengineering and the Volgenau Chair for Engineering Innovation
Yang Yang, distinguished professor of materials science and engineering, bioengineering and the Carol and Lawrence E. Tannas Jr. Endowed Chair in Engineering
